Alternative Payment Systems

Although the credit card or electronic check payments are very popular in the Internet, there are a lot of regions where paying for online services by these methods is difficult or impossible. It is quite often that the obstacle to the credit card payment is VISA or MASTERCARD's policy on gambling, auctions, and other online services connected with the high risk of charge backs. That is why alternative payment methods have been developing lately. The new methods allow the merchants to develop their business where regular credit card payments are impossible.

We have implemented several systems that allow the merchants to accept payments from the buyers without credit cards. Each system is a full-functional tool with a convenient client and administrative part that supports one of the following alternative payment methods:

Payment by telephone using the temporary access codes

This quick payment method that does not require buying any credit card or telephone card is provided by the Pass-On system. The system allows to receive payments by telephone connection.

The method provided by Pass-On is simple. A merchant wanting to get payments by Pass-On, gets a generated script that they place in a protected area on their site. Trying to access the protected area, the user is asked to call the given phone number and get a temporary access code. The user enters the code and gets access to the protected area. The invoice to pay for the service is received by the user together with the phone bill. The user may pay for the time of access or for each visit, according to each protected area's price.

Along with the payment service, Pass-On includes a multi-level Affiliate system intended for attracting new users.

This payment method is simple and reliable, which is proved by its growing popularity in Europe, especially in Italy and Greece.

Payment by telephone using the premium phone number

If you provide services or goods for fixed prices, it is convenient to use the 900payments system. The system gives each merchant a script for receiving payments. When a user is trying to access a protected area, the ActiveX component is downloaded on the user's computer, breaks current dialup connection, calls the premium phone number, and restores the dialup connection. All premium phone number calls are recorded. The invoice to pay for the service is received by the user together with the phone bill. The method is simple and does not require any effort from the user.

Along with the payment service, Pass-On includes a multi-level Affiliate system intended for attracting new users.

Payment by extra fee Internet connection

In the locations where it is possible to provide paid access to the protected area by ISP, you can use the dialers that we have developed. The dialers are simple and reliable. When a user is trying to access a protected area, the dialer is downloaded on their computer, breaks current dialup connection, establishes the Internet connection via the ISP that the merchant has an agreement with. The user receives the invoice to pay for the service from ISP.

Payment by telephone card

Payment by telephone card provides a lot of opportunities to the merchants. Thousands of prepaid telephone calling cards are sold all over the world. Big US companies like AT&T, MCI, and Sprint, are going to introduce their phone cards on the online market. They consider this new payment solution very promising and able to compete with VISA and MASTERCARD.

Following the new direction, we are developing the GlobalPhonePay system that is going to distribute both its own phone cards and other company's phone cards via the Internet. The user buys the telephone cards and use their card's unique PIN code to pay for both online and land-based services.

The system creates a gateway to the processors of third parties' telephone cards, and processes its own cards by third parties' request.
